So I managed to get the courthouse steps blocks finished. I am pleased with how they turned out. I think I managed to get a good variety of fabrics into the blocks, without any repeats while still maintaining enough contrast.
I was able to do a quick layout of all the blocks. By using just the two colours, it does change the effect of the original pattern, but I'm still happy with it. I just need to do a proper layout to work out the final placement before I sew it all together.
